37-year-old accused – ex-hooligan wanted to “burn everything down” because of his wife

When his partner broke up, a 37-year-old freaked out. At the St. Pölten regional court, the man, who had been convicted several times before, was sentenced to conditional imprisonment and a fine for dangerous threats.

After twelve beers and a little whiskey, a 37-year-old’s fuse blew. “I will kill you!” he is said to have shouted at his beloved. But that wasn’t enough: When his partner told him at the beginning of December that she would rather go through life without him in the future, it was too much of a bad thing. In a rage, he stormed into the bedroom and kicked the door in with his foot, only seconds later to set the blanket on fire with a lighter. “I’m going to burn everything down,” he is said to have followed up verbally. The frightened (ex-)girlfriend was just able to prevent something even worse. The fact that the former Wiener Austria hooligan already has ten previous convictions due to his “exhausting” past did not give him any brownie points at the regional court in St. Pölten. The man once again had to answer for dangerous threats. And he partially confessed to the arson. But he couldn’t remember the threats because of the 2.2 per mille level. Instructions for anti-violence training “It was pure hell,” said the threatened person, still visibly shaken. Her ex received eleven months of conditional imprisonment and a fine including compensation for pain and suffering – which was not legally binding.
