3D Realms announces Phantom Fury, sequel to retro FPS Ion Fury

Tribute to Duke Nukem 3D and its legendary engine, the Build Engine, Ionfury was aimed at those nostalgic for this glorious FPS of the 90s by offering an adventure that is just as explosive and nervous, with less low-key humor. With Phantom Fury3D Realms is rather eyeing the generation of FPS of the early 2000s, as evidenced by its production entirely in 3D with its old-fashioned charm.

A sequel that will take us a few years after Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison’s fight against Jadus Heskel. Our heroine is brought out of her coma by a former colleague and finds herself endowed with a new bionic arm. This time, she will have the task of protecting a formidable artifact, the Demon Core, throughout a journey across the United States. Brought to you by 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks as an FPS inspired by the road movie, Phantom Fury will send us shooting cybernetic foot soldiers and mutant soldiers from Albuquerque to Los Alamos to Chicago.

The title promises an arsenal of more than twenty guns, some inherited from the first part and others unpublished, while a wide range of skills and improvements will expand our offensive and defensive repertoires over the course of the adventure. Announced on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC, Phantom Fury is expected within the next year.
