MY HERO ACADEMIA – UA HEROES BATTLE (Crunchyroll)

Available from November 30.

Eight months after the end of their season, the heroes of My Hero Academia take a little break in the middle of war to offer us a special episode. All in relaxation and humor, Izuku, Bakugo, Shoto and their comrades are back for a welcome moment of play, before resuming their fight against the villains.

This totally original OAV, directed by Kenji Nagasaki and still supervised by Bones Studios, was presented in world premiere at the New York Comic Con convention in the United States on October 13.

An enjoyable little episode, in the company of these still endearing characters, while waiting for season 7, which has already been ordered, and which should arrive on our platforms in 2024. But also the fourth feature film based on the license, currently in production in Japan.

RAGNA CRIMSON (DNA)

Currently broadcast since September 30.

A fantastic little nugget of the season, Ragna Crimson doesn’t get talked about much but nonetheless remains very effective in its genre. Adapted from the eponymous manga by Kobayashi Daiki, the anime tells the adventures of Ragna and Crimson, a mysterious duo of hunters wishing to overthrow the supremacy of dragons.

Very well paced, despite its lack of action, this series seduces with its rich universe, its intriguing characters and its strong moments of emotion. Very faithful and respectful of the original work, Ragna Crimson has the art of convincing manga readers, as well as new audiences.

With 24 episodes ordered for this first season, we hope for a rapid renewal because the paper work is still being published in Japan.

THE POKÉMON RECEPTIONIST (Netflix)

While a sequel to the Detective Pikachu film is in production and The Pokémon Receptionist arrives on Netflix on December 28, the brand is not likely to run out of steam anytime soon.
