A mother and her son have been tried for a sordid crime committed in 2017. Together they ordered the death of a young disabled man who witnessed their scams.
It is a chilling news item that our colleagues from Ouest-France reported in the columns of the daily newspaper. On March 31, 2023, a 54-year-old woman and her 24-year-old son appeared before the Charente Assize Court for a heinous crime. The facts reported during the hearing are chilling. The mother had set up a massive scam. It targeted vulnerable people, handicapped and mentally retarded, put them in touch with his own children, minors, and pushed them to love relationships and a romantic attachment. Then “wolf pack leader”, as described by the Advocate General, encouraged victims to go into debt. She embezzled their welfarewhile preventing them from leaving its bosom.
In 2017, a young man who had let himself be drawn into this evil clan for several years tried to get out. And that’s where everything changed. THE mentally handicapped young man knew too much and decided. During a family reunion, the mother of the family therefore recorded her “elimination”. The account of her sordid murder was told in court by the murderer himself, the companion of one of the girls. He suffocated the victim with a cloth soaked in ether the same evening. Then killed and dismembered him before burn his body in the fireplace of a house belonging to the clan.

The decision to kill him would have been motivated by a single reason: he knew the exact workings of the family and its well-rehearsed scam. The mother and son who ordered the crime were both sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. As reported West France, a young woman, companion of one of the daughters of the family, was also sentenced to 2 years in prison for “concealment of bodies”. It is at her home that the remains of the murdered young man, who have never been found, are said to have been burned. The killer was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
