In 2007, Apple revolutionized the telephone market by launching the very first iPhone.

In 2022, this same iPhone 2G was auctioned off at an exorbitant price.

Nearly €40,000 for the very first iPhone

Remember, in 2007, Apple presented a brand new revolutionary product, bringing together an iPod, a computer and a telephone: the iPhone. A first iPhone with a screen of only 3.5″ (a tiny size compared to today’s smartphones), then marketed at a price of 499 dollars and which has been very popular with collectors for several years now .

Last September, LCG Auctions organized an auction for a copy, still under blister, of this same iPhone 2G. A sale that ended very recently, and whose starting price (€2,500) literally exploded, since the smartphone was sold for 39,330 dollars and 60 cents, very precisely.

Obviously, it goes without saying that this iPhone 2G will most certainly remain protected under its blister, for economic reasons on the one hand (its “value” could collapse once the product is unpacked), but also because the smartphone is now unusable.
