432 couples in traditional costume – drone video: This is how the waltz world record was achieved

A highlight of the Aufsteirern Sunday in Graz: Hundreds of couples swung their hips on the Passamtswiese in the Stadtpark to set a spectacular world record in waltzing in traditional costume. The mission succeeded. Check out our drone video!

It all started at exactly 11.30 a.m. on Sunday: the music sounded, more than 800 people started moving at the same time in dance steps. The goal: to set the world record in waltzing in traditional costume as part of the Graz Aufsteirern Festival. And it succeeded: 432 couples, dressed in traditional costume, “waltzed” on the Passamtswiese at the same time – that has never happened before! An entry in the Guinness Book of Records is imminent. As a thank you, all dancers received a certificate that will forever remind them of the day. Waltz record remains in Italy By the way, it would have had to be 1598 couples for the general world record in waltzing to be broken. It was set up in Trieste in 2018.
