46 private platforms on the ranks

Forty-six private operators have positioned themselves to become a “partner dematerialization platform” (PDP) during the launch of electronic invoicing for businesses in 2026, according to a list published Thursday by the Ministry of the Economy.

The generalization of electronic invoicing for payments between businesses was initially planned to come into force on July 1, 2024, with the aim in particular of to improve the fight against VAT fraudbut also to lighten the administrative burden on companies or improve knowledge of their activity.

To ensure the success of the reformits entry into force was deferred until 2026according to a timetable established by the 2024 finance law: on September 1, 2026, large companies and intermediate-sized companies will be affected, then, on September 1, 2027, small and medium-sized companies as well as micro-enterprises.

The approximately 8 million companies subject to VAT will have the choice, to transmit their electronic invoices, between the public invoicing portal and private platforms registered by the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP). Hence this call for applications in which most of the players in electronic solutions dedicated to businesses participated.

According to an Ipsos survey for the DGFiP carried out in September, more than half of companies with 250 employees or more wish to use a private platform instead.

The publication of the list of candidates does not prejudge these candidates obtaining registration, specifies the DGFiP on the website impots.gouv.fr, and, to date, no registration has been issued.
