All are accused of having successively sexually assaulted their unconscious victim and made available to them by her husband. Indeed, the investigators discovered with amazement that the husband had taken to drugging his companion before delivering her, unconscious and subject to strangers.
A scenario difficult to conceive for the police officers in charge of the case which has nevertheless been repeated for years. According to the elements revealed by the investigation, the septuagenarian and companion of the victim got into the habit of injecting high doses of benzodiazepine-based tranquilizers in his drinks or his food. Investigators finally managed to identify 49 suspects among the 83 individuals identified in this rape case.

The victim’s husband is already known to the police. In September 2020, he was arrested after he was caught filming upskirt videos of female customers at a supermarket. Doing extensive research on the suspect, investigators did not expect the horror they faced while rummaging through his computer. Nearly 20,000 videos and photos of his wife being unconscious and sexually abused by men have been found on the suspect’s device. According to the investigators, the wife of the septuagenarian would not be the only victim of such horror. Indeed, research reveals that one of the suspects would have authorized the septuagenarian to subject the same fate to his wife, before abusing her when she was unconscious.

In order to legislate in this case, the Avignon prosecutor’s office plans to create a new court specializing in sexual affairs.. Questioned by our colleagues from seven to eight in May 2022, Caroline Darian, the daughter of the suspect was convinced to have suffered the same fate as her mother when photos of her and her sister-in-law were found on the computer of the one she stopped to call dad from this case.
