It is not because we are confined that we must draw a line under our social ties! In order not to give in to depression, here are 5 mobile applications to keep in touch with your friends and family.

No, confinement does not necessarily mean isolation. While the French population is forced to stay at home to limit the spread of Covid-19, some have found some nice little tips to keep in touch with their friends and family. Houseparty, Netflix Party, Instagram … Fortunately, there are many mobile apps out there today that help us a lot to keep our spirits and social bond going during this period of confinement which is likely to be much longer than expected …

Houseparty

Even better than a phone call, the app Houseparty offers to find your friends, colleagues and family remotely. Launched in 2016, this free mobile app allows you to converse in facetime to many, maximum 8 people. A good solution to organize a small aperitif or a game of cards between friends in a few seconds. And the icing on the cake: Houseparty also offers games to do live such as Pictionary or Time's up. In short, you will understand: it is the perfect solution to occupy your Saturday evenings!

Netflix Party

Yes, watching a Netflix series for two is possible! Available on the Google Chrome browser, the extension Netflix Party exists since 2016 but the current context means that it has never been as popular as it is today. Once downloaded for free, Netflix Party then allows you to synchronize the viewing of movies or series on the streaming platform and also allows you to open an online conversation for exchange live as if you were in the same room. Good to know: each of you must first have Netflix Party installed on Google Chrome and subscribe to Netflix to enjoy synchronized viewing via Netflix Party.

Instagram

Ahlala, what would we do our days without Instagram ? It is the perfect application to share your little tips with your subscribers, but also and above all the perfect place to get inspired. Look photos, recipes, funny videos, there is everything to not get bored! Besides, in order not to give in to boredom and depression, the lives Instagram have multiplied since the start of containment. Sports sessions, live music, cooking lessons … A lot of things are in place so that you don't feel too alone at home, and especially to keep yourself occupied!

WhatsApp

If it was already used by many French people, the application WhatsApp has now become the favorite place for families to exchange ideas. The application is free as well on Android or iOS and allows you to exchange with all your relatives and friends, even those who live abroad! We can thus create conversations including several people and send GIFs, emojis or even voice notes for those who are too lazy to tell their program of the day.

Skype

Already well known to internet users, Skype is the ideal application to communicate in face cam with relatives and friends, both in France and abroad. You can also start instant discussions, make audio or video calls or even organize video conferences for up to 50 people. Very practical if you have to talk with your colleagues or your students if you are a teacher and you have to continue giving lessons during the entire confinement period.
