When it comes to fashion, hardly any country is as far ahead as France. The French are masters of the “chic simple”. They turn simple basics into cool it-pieces in the summer. Here we reveal how it works and which basics we definitely want to shop for.
Anyone who thinks that summer trends are the same all over the world is wrong. Countries, regions and cities have their own preferences. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn anything from other countries. The French, or more precisely the stylish Parisians, have perfected one thing: elegant minimalism. We also benefit from their know-how in summer and look at five basics with which you can create exciting looks.

1. Light denim pants
Nothing beats a pair of well-fitting jeans. Fashionista Julie Ferreri knows that too and swears by high-waist denim pants in a light wash this summer. 4. Form-fitting midi skirts
Summer always presents us with the challenge of not sweating in the heat, but wearing enough to not look naked. A good alternative to summer dresses and shorts are form-fitting midi skirts. And anyone who now assumes: “Only slim women can wear that” should remember that hourglass figures in tube skirts look great. Every figure has its advantages, you just have to know which materials and cuts you use to present them in the best possible way.
5. Summer knit tops
Just as French women have a knack for elegant silhouettes, they are also stylish when it comes to high-quality materials. Summer knit tops may not initially sound like a summer must-have, but the thin yarn makes them breathable and therefore absolutely suitable for the hot summer temperatures.
Summer knitwear looks particularly classy when worn in muted earth tones. If the minimalist style is too boring for you, you can also fall back on bright crochet tops with boho vibes this summer.
