Prime Video, Amazon’s subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform, is one of the heavyweights in the market. But maybe you are not using all the options available to you.
Like Netflix or Disney+, Amazon Prime Video has options that can make the experience on the SVOD platform more enjoyable. There are several, but the five presented below are among those to know whether you are on PC or mobile. The Prime Video subscription is integrated into the Amazon Prime subscription.
Clean the history of videos viewed on Amazon Prime Video
It can be beneficial to clean up your video view history on Amazon Prime Video. This is useful for weeding out content you started but didn’t like, to avoid steering the recommendation algorithm in a direction you don’t want to go. Deletion is done on a case-by-case basis. Impossible to erase everything with one click.
Enable automatic downloads on mobile
This is an option for anyone who uses Amazon Prime Video on a smartphone. If you have the app, you can request automatic downloading of videos. This is used to retrieve the following episodes of a series (you choose the number of episodes, between one and five in advance). This happens in “My space” and “Reading and downloads”.
Disable autoplay next episode
To tell Amazon Prime Video not to automatically play the next episode, you need to go to your account settings. Then swipe to the “Reader” tab and choose the “Disabled” option. It’s quite simple. Note that you can do the same for Netflix and Disney+ if the sequence of episodes bores you.
Disable trailer playback
The path is exactly the same whether you want to stop the episode auto-playing or the trailers playing. Go to your account settings, go to the “Player” tab and choose the “Disabled” option. This will stop the trailers while you explore the SVOD service catalog.
