5-year-old seriously burned at her school

On April 29, at the school, a 5-year-old girl was burned by a virucide, a treatment against viruses used by cleaning agents. The child had to undergo a skin graft.

The incident took place in a school in Rueil-Malmaison, in Hauts-de-Seine, which had just been fully disinfected during confinement. A 5-year-old girl in kindergarten was burned after sitting on a chair on which drops of anti-virus treatment had fallen, according to the Parisian.

A few hours later, significant redness was noted on the child’s buttocks by the parents. Health professionals had to intervene for serious burns and perform a transplant on the girl. Two weeks after undergoing a skin transplant, she is still hospitalized.

The cleaning staff questioned

According to the Parisian, it would be a fault of the maintenance agents who did not respect the protocol in force. Indeed, a container of concentrated virucide was in a room of the establishment while the product “must not leave the reserve and it must be diluted according to a specific protocol”, underlines the director general of the city services.

According to the laboratory of the Paris police headquarters, the girl was indeed burned by the product. An investigation has been opened.
