After his performance at the Super Bowl, 50 Cent has not only received enthusiastic compliments: some fans have noticed that the rapper has gained weight. He’s so cool with it.

He was probably the surprise guest of the halftime show of the 56th Super Bowl: 50 Cent, 46, complements the appearance of his colleagues Eminem, 50, Dr. Dre, 57, Snoop Dogg, 50, Mary J. Blige, 50, and Kendrik Lamar, 34. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, performs his hit “In Da Club” – and how in that In the accompanying music video, he hangs upside down from the stage ceiling. For some hip-hop fans, however, not only his appearance is the focus.

Posts in which users comment on the figure of the rapper accumulate particularly on Twitter. Very popular: jokes that refer to the headlong performance of 50 Cent. The users notice above all that they seem to have gained weight. “When ’50 cents’ suddenly becomes ’50 kilos’ more […] Thought it was satire at first [sic]’ writes one viewer.

Others include his songs in their comments: “I don’t think 50 Cent ever left the candy shop.” With “Candyshop” this user alludes to the song of the same name by the musician. “50 cents with about 50 pounds too much… [sic]”, writes a German user on Twitter. The actual show seems to have receded into the background for many viewers.

On Instagram, 50 Cent itself reacts to the posts on the web. With a clear statement: “I call it ‘teasing me’. They only tease me because they know that I can lose weight. That’s why I laugh with them. [sic]”It is clear from the post that he himself seems to ascribe little importance to his character. The musician also reacts calmly to memes that refer to his headlong performance with a wink – and posts a self-ironic post asking whose The idea would have been to have him sing overhead.So 50 Cent keeps body shaming as simple as it is effective: “Fat shaming only applies if you’re ashamed of the fat.”
