Throwing a microphone on stage has no consequences for 50 Cent. The public prosecutor’s office has decided not to press charges.

The US rapper 50 Cent alias Curtis Jackson (48) does not have to answer in court because of his microphone throw. As the celebrity portal “TMZ” reports, among others, the responsible public prosecutor’s office announced that it will not bring charges against the musician. In August 2023, 50 Cent threw two microphones off the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, according to media reports. He is said to have hit Power 106 radio presenter Bryhana Monegain, who suffered head and facial injuries.

They then filed a criminal complaint with the police, who initially classified the case as a felony and presented it to the Los Angeles County district attorney. The authority has forwarded the incident to the Los Angeles district attorney’s office, which will now not file any charges.

50 Cent: Lawyer denies intent

Eyewitnesses previously reported that the “In da Club” singer was initially handed a microphone on stage that made no sound. He then threw it to the left side of the stage. A second microphone was then handed to him, which was also defective. He also threw this off the stage with greater force, but further away from the edge of the stage than the first microphone. This second throw is said to have been the cause of the presenter’s injuries.

A concertgoer told People magazine immediately after the incident: “This is an unfortunate isolated incident where someone was in an area where they shouldn’t have been.” 50 Cent’s lawyer said in a statement a short time later that it was definitely not intentional. His client would never intentionally hit or throw a microphone at someone: “Anyone who claims otherwise doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”
