The sports that want their piece of the NFT pie now also include Formula 1. Formula 1 now has a global partnership with the crypto broker Crypto.com announced, in which the latter takes on the role of the official sponsor and NFT partner of the racing series. The collaboration begins with the first race of the sprint series on July 17th at Silverstone.

Formula 1 racing drivers are to be given the opportunity to win a new, possibly crypto-related prize. This is to be announced before the Belgian Grand Prix on August 29th. Formula 1 has also announced the Carbon Reduction Plans from Crypto.com to follow.

The crypto exchange announced in May a commitment to offset more carbon through a tiered approach than it generates from all activities within its platform. At the same time, Formula 1 has set the goal of achieving “carbon zero” by 2030.

Crypto.com is highly regarded in the industry and their experience was key in choosing to work with them, as was the company’s commitment to going carbon negative as we continue to pursue our own sustainability goals

said Ben Pincus, director of commercial partnerships for Formula 1. Crypto.com will also display its logo on Aston Martin team equipment at racing events. This is based on a partnership that came about in March. The competition from McLaren, however, relies on the Tezos blockchain.
