50,000 euros damage – long imprisonment for cheeky fraudsters

Drugs, gambling addiction, debt, lots of crime. This is how the life of a young Burgenlander can be summed up. The father of two children is currently serving a three-year and three-month prison term for fraud in which he damaged dozen victims for around 26,000 euros. For his most recent trial, the defendant was therefore taken straight from the cell to the courtroom. This time he is said to have relieved his victims by a total of 24,000 euros. He lured them out of money to set up a company, for example, or offered World War II devotional items to buy, collected the money, but did not deliver.
