500,000 pieces – state election: ballot papers come from the Lungau

The Samson print shop in St. Margarethen im Lungau is currently dealing with a very special major order. The company has been producing the ballot papers for the Salzburg elections on April 23 since March 13.

“Of course, a ballot paper was printed for everyone who was eligible to vote, a total of 386,947 people in Salzburg. In addition, there was a statutory reserve, which produced a total of around half a million ballot papers,” says state returning officer Michael Bergmüller. Not only the approximately 500,000 ballot papers have to be printed, folded, counted and packaged. The accompanying letters for the absentee ballots and all printed materials for the electoral authorities also come from St. Margarethen. Company founder and boss Gerhard Aichhorn says proudly: “For me personally, this task is special, after all it’s about an election.”
