58-year-old deceived – fake police officers stole coin collection

Coins worth 3,000 euros have been stolen from a 58-year-old man from the Unterland by unknown persons. One of the two scammers called the man around 8pm last Saturday and pretended to be a detective. He asked the 58-year-old about valuables. The Unterländer stated that he had several coin collections. A little later he was rid of them.

In the telephone conversation on Saturday evening, the 58-year-old agreed on a password under which another man should pick up the coins. A little later he was in front of the front door. He was let in, photographed the collections. Then he asked the Unterlander to put the coins in a red backpack. He then left the apartment with the coin collections worth around 3,000 euros.
