Classic ingredients

  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g of brown sugar (we have a weakness for rapadura, an unrefined sugar)
  • 50 g of soft butter
  • 10 cl of milk (whole is better)
  • 3 apples
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 g of baking powder
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 pinch of salt

Good to know : You can also reduce the amount of butter a little to 30g, and slip in one or two small tablespoons of mascarpone to accentuate the softness of this cake.

Grandma's classic apple cake

It is THE recipe tested and approved time and time again, which is passed down from generation to generation. It's very simple and you won't even need a scale to measure the ingredients.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 50 minutes

Ingredients for 8 people :

  • 6 tbsp of flour
  • 6 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 3 reinette apples
  • 3 eggs

Good to know : add a pinch of salt, the salt being a flavor enhancer. You can also reduce the amount of sugar a little if you like your cakes not too sweet. Yep, amazing as it sounds, this recipe uses very, very little flour, but rather wheat semolina. And it works like hell! And on the gluttony side, nothing to complain about. Small grapes that have puffed up go very well with apples and cinnamon. In short, a delight!

Ingredients for 4 big eaters (but this cake can also delight 8 small appetites):

  • 80 cl of milk
  • 75 g fine wheat semolina
  • 50 g of raisins
  • 50 g butter
  • 8 tbsp of sugar or approx. 120 g (you can lighten this amount if you want)
  • 4 tablespoons of cream
  • 2 peeled apples
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp of flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt

Good to know : if you want to make this cake more fluffy, you can separate the yolks from the eggs and beat the whites until stiff. You will incorporate them delicately into the device.
