fun, news, tips… what else?

When he arrived at the hospital, the doctors were surprised by their discovery: the 6-week-old baby had no less than 11 fractures all over his body. The father was immediately charged.

In Reims, the father denies any violence on his 6-week-old baby, and yet, when the baby was admitted to hospital, he had 11 fractures spread all over his body. The doctors made a diagnosis, at 6 weeks he had broken bones collarbone, ribs, humerus, some recent, others older. That’s not all, the infant was found with numerous bruises on his body and a haemorrhage in his eye. However, his 22-year-old father cannot find an explanation for his serious injuries. Before the Reims court, he claimed his innocence despite all the elements that were exposed to him.

The baby was not the only child in the family, another two-year-old child was also removed from the family home, they both were placed. Reported by The Union, the passage to the criminal court of the father of the family is edifying. When the judge asks him how his injuries could have appeared, he replies: “Maybe I squeezed it a little too tight while wearing it, or maybe it happened while changing the diaper.” The court’s verdict will be delivered on May 30.

The father of the family does not explain his fractures

The baby’s father justifies his fractures by accidental injuries, a birthday where he would have passed from arm to arm, an appointment with the osteopath… while for the judge: “A lot of his bones were broken, it’s not accidental.” The man, trying to defend himself, put forward the hypothesis of an illness but once again, the judge dismantled his argument. Since the infant was placed, no more fractures have been observed. Explanations that are struggling to convince the judge and for the lawyer responsible for defending the rights of the baby, there is no doubt: “(he) was repeatedly and severely beaten. This file is dramatic because of the extent of the injuries and because of the total denial of this father who gives us all kinds of eccentric leads to explain the state of health of his son. According to the lawyer, the doctors even ruled out a congenital disease…

In response, the father’s lawyer justifies the different hypotheses of his client as proof of his innocence: “He didn’t do anything, that’s why he doesn’t have an explanation and is looking for what he could have done wrong to give you some.” A visibly complicated and extremely violent affair which will only have a verdict on May 30.
