A couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in an original way. They both put on the outfits they wore for D-Day and had a very touching photoshoot.

Marvin and Lucille Stone are 88 and 81, respectively. Last August, the American couple who reside in Nebraska celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and decided to do it big for the occasion. The man pulled his groom suit out of the closet, while the woman put on her wedding dress, which she had sewn herself at the time, and they asked photographer Katie Autry to recreate photos of wedding.

The pictures are very touching for this couple who had three children and now have six grandchildren. As soon as they met, when they were both teachers in a school in Nebraska, they found a lot in common, they told NTV. They were both born during the Great Depression, have families that worked on the farm, did the same job, and had the same goals in life. Today, the same complicity is still there: "We don't always agree but we have the same goal that we always had, so we adapt. We have similar values and it worked pretty well and, I don't know, we didn't never considered parting ", Marvin says. “From day one, we considered marriage to be forever. You do what you have to do and we weren't perfect in our marriage. We had arguments. We had disagreements but, on important topics, we're pretty much on the same track ", adds Lucille.

It is therefore very moved that they celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary during this incredible photoshoot. It also gave them the opportunity to remember some anecdotes from D-Day. "My dad cried. He's the only one who cried. My mom was thrilled and they both thought Marvin was perfect.", remembers Lucille Stone. For his part, Marvin recalls a funny fact: “It was a typical wedding. It was our pastor's first wedding ceremony… and he was a little shocked but he did and we were married”. After six decades as a couple, they say communication is very important to make it last. "Use the resources you have and don't wait until you have everything you want. Focus on the needs over time, keep the faith, keep a positive attitude and do your best.", adds the American.
