68,323 spectators, the Spurs explode an attendance record in the NBA at the Alamodome


A huge crowd attended San Antonio’s loss to Golden State (144-113) on Friday.

More than 68,000 fans descended on the Alamodome on Friday to watch San Antonio take on Golden State, which handily defeated Spurs 144-113. It’s a new record for an NBA regular season game, surpassing the 62,046 that saw the Atlanta Hawks host the Chicago Bulls at the Georgia Dome on March 27, 1998.

The organization of the event in this room which hosted the Spurs between 1993 and 2002 and where the first Texans coronation was celebrated (in 1999) was done as part of the 50th anniversary of the Spurs. Since 2002, Tony Parker’s former franchise now evolves at the AT&T Center which can accommodate 18,418 seats.
