7 million copies sold for Resident Evil 4 – Gamosaurus

It took no more than 4 months for the remake of Resident Evil 4 to sell more than 5 million copies. But between the Mercenaries mode, the DLC and more recently the VR version, the game has continued to attract the curious. Whether they are nostalgic for the original title, or newcomers, there are now 7 million players who have launched into Resident Evil 4. And this in one year, which reassures Capcom about the notoriety of its license.

Hailed by both critics and players despite a controversy concerning its numerous microtransactions, the horror game continues its journey. He will have benefited in particular from the arrival of the DLC Separate Ways last September to complete his story. But the VR version will also have helped revive interest a little by offering a new approach to combat. We therefore did not have to wait for the Gold Edition of
Resident Evil 4 to convince 7 million players to take an interest in it.

It’s a good numbers season for Capcom. Yesterday we learned that Monster Hunter: World had sold more than 25 million copies worldwide. Thus leading the license to more than 97 million sales combined. For resident Evil, the figures are much more impressive. Particularly because she is slightly older at 28 years old, but above all because she is much more popular. The series has exceeded 154 million sales since its launch in 1996.
