At her wedding, the then 25-year-old Eden weighed over 150 kilos. Shocked at herself, she pulled the rip cord – and is a completely new person today.
Almost every woman has probably decided to lose weight at the start of the New Year. Eden SanBoeuf is one of them: The then 25-year-old decided on January 1, 2015 to shed a few pounds, as she told the internet portal lovewhatmatters. Decisive for this were the wedding photos she had taken shortly before: On the most beautiful day of her life, she weighed around 150 kilos and was shocked at herself.
I couldn't have the greatest weight of my life at my wedding of all places – but that's exactly what happened. That was my wake up call.
App to help you lose weight
But the photos were probably just the last lever for Eden. She had long since realized that her weight was responsible for a multitude of problems: She felt constantly sick and exhausted, and every little physical task posed problems for her. So she decided to finally change her life. Eden began to enter everything she ate into an app and thus learned for the first time what healthy nutrition should actually look like and what she had stuffed into herself until then, everything unhealthy. She tested healthy recipes and slowly but surely started working out – mostly she used free tutorials on YouTube.
The first pounds fell faster than Eden had expected, but she found it difficult not to be disappointed if there hadn't been so much on the scales in a week. Only later did she learn that it is better to lose weight slowly – and come to terms with it. Even so, Eden began to love her new healthy lifestyle and lost 50 pounds in just ten months. Then came the good news in November: She was expecting her first child. Eden couldn't have been happier because it was an absolute dream baby.
The happiness did not last
But as quickly as luck came, it happened again quickly: A routine ultrasound at the end of January 2016 revealed that Eden's unborn son was suffering from anencephaly. With the disease, the upper part of the head in the child does not develop, the skull is not closed. Most of the affected children die before birth, or shortly afterwards at the latest. Only a week after the diagnosis, Eden's son Wyatt was born dead.
I always say it was the best worst day of my life. I met my son and lost him the same day.
Eden was at a crossroads: she knew that the old self would have let herself be destroyed by this situation and indulged in depression. But her new self could not and would not allow that: Eden maintained her healthy lifestyle and began to get involved in social issues: for parents who had also lost a child and, via Facebook, for people who were looking for advice on a healthy life.
The small miracle followed in May 2016: Eden became pregnant again. And this time everything went well – their son Joseph William was born in February 2017 perfectly healthy. This time there was only a tiny downer: Eden had let herself go a lot during pregnancy and gained around 30 kilos. But now the power woman knew how to declare war on the excess pounds. The pregnancy fat was gone in nine months, today Eden weighs around 80 kilos and has thus almost halved. No wonder she is very proud of herself:
I grew on this wonderful journey. That's why I want to show that everyone can do it. I am the living proof!
Eden donated her wedding dress
To show which way she has behind her, Eden stepped back into the wedding dress with which it all began. And finally she decided to donate the dress, which was now much too big: the wedding dress was used to make little angelic robes for children who, like Eden's son Wyatt, were born with anencephaly and who were not allowed to live their lives.
