71 years old and 2 Caesars: this cinema legend will star in a grueling film

Currently starring in “Sidonia in Japan”, Isabelle Huppert should soon head to Italy. To shoot a horror film under the direction of one of the masters of the genre: Dario Argento, director of “Suspiria”.

Isabelle Huppert is a globetrotter! On the bill for Sidonie in Japan since Wednesday April 3, the actress who won a César for La Cérémonie in 1996 and Elle in 2017 will soon be filming under the direction of an Italian director.

And not just any, since it is Dario Argento, master of horror and icon of the giallo to whom we owe in particular Suspiria or Phenomena.

It was the main interested party who announced it herself, in an interview given to Sunday Newspaper : “I confirm it to you, even if it is still premature to talk about it”she said.

Without giving more information on what the film will be about, but suggesting that it will be scary: “I’m not sure I’ll be able to watch it alone at home at 3 a.m..”

This will not be the first time that Isabelle Huppert has acted in front of the camera of a transalpine filmmaker, since we saw her in 2013 in Sleeping Beauty by Marco Bellocchio, a drama set against a backdrop of euthanasia.

If the question of death should be part of Dario Argento’s work, the register will be very different, more horrific. And who knows if the presence of Isabelle Huppert in his next opus will allow the director to find that mojo after which he has been chasing for years?
