77-year-old convicted – would-be policeman forcibly entered his apartment

A 77-year-old was employed in the civil service for 40 years. But now the Styrian who lives in Tyrol had to answer to court for presumptuousness and trespassing. He is said to have repeatedly pretended to be a policeman to a tenant and forcibly entered the tenant’s apartment …

“Unusual allegations,” raged the defendant in front of Judge Helga Moser. He just wanted to get a business card out of his wallet and in doing so inadvertently showed the International Police Association’s brand.

“I would have loved to strap one for him”
But what did the pensioner and his partner actually want in the strange apartment? Apparently too early to inherit! Because today the woman owns the apartment, which was still rented in 2019, shortly after the death of her mother. “He was with us three times and always pretended to be a policeman,” the tenant’s girlfriend remembered on Friday. And her partner added: “He played himself up – I would have loved to strap one for him, but I have respect for older people.”

Then on a Sunday the situation escalated. “We didn’t want to let them in,” said the witnesses. The “wannabe cop” is said to have forced the door open and threatened with a cavalry if he was not allowed into the apartment.

Wife acquitted
Judge Moser had no doubts about the tenants’ version. The 77-year-old, who is said to have not shown his best side even with the police, was sentenced – not legally binding – to a half conditional fine of 12,000 euros. His girlfriend was acquitted.
