Julianne Moore has been appointed President of the Venice Film Festival Jury.

The Venice Film Festival has announced this year’s jury president: Julianne Moore will chair the jury.

Great honor for Julianne Moore (61). The actress was appointed Jury President of the 79th Venice Film Festival. That goes from the Event website out. “Oscar and Emmy winner Julianne Moore is known for the breadth of her work and some memorable performances on screen and television,” the statement said.

Jury members from all over the world

Next to Moore are director Mariano Cohn (46) from Argentina, director Leonardo Di Costanzo (64) from Italy, director Audrey Diwan (42) from France, actress Leila Hatami (49) from Iran, screenwriter Kazuo Ishiguro (67) from Japan and director Rodrigo Sorogoyen (40) from Spain in the jury.

The decision to appoint Julianne Moore as jury president was made by the film festival board. She was suggested by the director of the event, Alberto Barbera (72).

This year’s Venice Film Festival runs from August 31st to September 10th.
