Autumn is here, and in keeping with this, we in the BRIGITTE editorial team have come up with a few series tips for you. It can also get rainy – we stay on the sofa.

Did you notice it too? Tomorrow it will be light a bit later, but it will be dark earlier in the evening. And even if the trees are still holding their leaves, the gray sky leaves no doubt that the new season has begun. And with autumn the need to make yourself comfortable on the sofa grows again.

This is where we come in: You think you’ve looked through all of the streaming offers except for the DVD collection over the past few months? Then let yourself be surprised. The swarm knowledge of our editorial team always brings out new series treasures.

It can be something new in the series heaven or old classics that you may have underestimated so far. Let yourself be surprised…

Series tips from us for you

Stromberg

“Christoph Maria Herbst shines in his role as Bernd Stromberg in the documentary series of the same name, which is based on ‘The Office’. As a department head in an insurance company, Stromberg shows his viewers, one after the other, the limits of shame – by perking them up crosses like no other. With ‘Stromberg’ you can shake your head, be amazed, laugh and sometimes even cry. True to the motto: ‘Too much competence makes you unsympathetic.’ “

Valeria

Valeria is currently writing her first novel and suffers from writer’s block, and she and her husband Adri are in a marital crisis. Above all, her three friends Lola, Nerea and Carmen give her support. It gets exciting when Victor, a friend of Lola, comes into the picture. The Spanish series by Elisabet Benavent takes place in beautiful Madrid (hello wanderlust!), Surprises with many twists and lives from the strong female main characters, who are all totally different and yet always stick together.

I found them really entertaining, the characters are personable – and there has been a second season since mid-September.

Desperate Housewives

The four housewives Susan, Lynette, Gabrielle and Bree live together on Wisteria Lane. Her life is turned upside down when her neighbor Mary Alice takes her own life. From then on, Mary Alice Young commented on the often desperate life of her friends from the afterlife. We are taken into the experiences of the five neighbors and their families. Each season circles around a new secret that haunts the neighborhood and needs to be revealed.

The series is one of my favorites because it’s totally captivating and exciting and I want to watch episode after episode. Nevertheless, she does not do without love stories and scandals, and a large portion of humor is always included. For me an absolute series classic, perfect for cozy autumn evenings!

Modern love

‘Modern Love’ is, well, about love. And in all its forms, be it the romantic, the one between mother and daughter, young and old … The series is based on the love column of the same name in the New York Times. Each episode tells its own story in which you have the feeling that you are allowed to look into someone else’s life for a short time. Somehow comforting, funny, close to life and surprisingly not cheesy – I like it.

Feel good

Another love streak … but it’s much more than that: It’s about the comedienne Mae Martin, who also plays herself, drugs, love, psychological problems and LGBTQ struggles that she and her friend George are confronted with. A little bit of everything, but above all told very honestly, without losing your sense of humor.

Shadow and Bone

Lose yourself in a completely different world? This is definitely possible with ‘Shadow and Bone – Legends of Grisha’. A fantasy series based on the trilogy by Leigh Bardugo takes you into previously unknown worlds with magic, physics, crooks and fantastic beings. No standard fantasy, but something new.

Gilmore Girls

Every fall I watch the seven seasons of ‘Gilmore Girls’ again (and yes, I can already have a say). When everything outside is gray and uncomfortable, the ideal world of Stars Hollow is just perfect. Plus, it always seems to be fall in Connecticut – at least that’s what it feels like.

The most spectacular vacation homes in the world

In ‘The most spectacular holiday apartments in the world’, three design and travel experts present: inside beautiful and above all special accommodation and the places where they are located all over the world. You can really dream away when everything is cloudy and autumnal here.
