It’s been more than two years now since Animal Crossing New Horizons was released on the Nintendo Switch, much to the delight of fans. And although the title will never receive a big update again, forgetting these superb features from previous games, many players may have missed out on the new features added to the game last year. Maybe you are only discovering ACNH today and that is why we are offering you 8 things not to miss in June 2022.
wedding season
This year 2022, the wedding season obviously returns with one and only change: since the 2.0 update which took place in November 2021, Joe’s island has greatly improved and has welcomed familiar faces such as Astrid the seer, Tortimer or even Ginette the hairdresser. Now when Serge and Risette call you to take charge of the photos of their wedding anniversary, you will be entitled to a discussion with Ginette also on the island of Joe!
Unfortunately, there is no new furniture to get (unless you haven’t played since 2020), so here’s the full guide to the event:
Summer shells galore and mermaid furniture!
Although it is possible to obtain the mermaid furniture throughout the year thanks to Pascal and her craving for scallops, the month of June is the perfect time to go scuba diving and have the ambition to create a mermaid island! This obviously goes hand in hand with the collection of furniture that can be crafted thanks to the many blue seashells to pick up on your beach.
On the southern hemisphere side, it’s more the end of the year celebrations with Christmas balls, snowflakes, Gift Day etc…
Blooming Plumeria
Plumeria Bushes were introduced with Update 2.0 in November 2021! If you don’t have time travel, this is the first time, in June, that you will see them blooming on your island.
The new fish and insects
The month of June is synonymous with the appearance of new fish and insects, as well as sea creatures.
New Summer and Winter Solstice Items!
Thanks to the 2.0 update, new items have been added to those already available at Nook Shopping to celebrate the solstices:

You can pick up these items from June 15-21 (Northern Hemisphere) or December 15-22 (Southern Hemisphere)
- Sunflower headdress: 1560 bells
- Sunflower Sun Mount (new): 1200 Bells

You can pick up these items from December 15-22 (Northern Hemisphere) or June 15-21 (Southern Hemisphere)
- Mid-winter sweater: 1200 bells
- Aurora Wall: 7000 Bells
- Yuzu bath (new): 3200 bells
- Tangyuan Soup (new): 1000 Bells
The 7 other seasonal items not to miss
Here are all the items you can collect via the Nookstop terminal of the Residents’ Office. Just go to the Nook Shopping and then to the “Temporary Items” tab using the L and R buttons on your joycons. Once the object has been purchased, you will receive it the next day by post. You have until June 30 to collect these items related to the Fathers Day and at the world children’s day :
- Thank You Dad Mug: 600 Bells
- Apron Thank you Dad: 1100 bells
- Cobbled Headdress: 300 Bells
- Crafted Cape: 500 Bells
You can also collect 4 items related to the wedding season
- The wedding bell: 4500 bells
- Bridal ring cushion: 2200 bells
- The wedding plate: 1400 bells
- The basket of petals: 1200 bells
The return of the Insectosafari!
With summer beginning in the northern hemisphere, Djason returns to the town hall square to offer his insect hunting tournaments. The objective is obviously to capture as many as possible to obtain exclusive rewards.
