8210, 5710 XpressAudio and 2660 Flip: old Nokia hits make a comeback

2

Nokia is launching three new mobiles on the European market aimed at those who are not interested in smartphones. The 8210, 5710 XpressAudio and 2660 offer modernized versions of successful 20-year-old eponymous models.

The technique is already proven. To make itself (re) better known, Nokia had resurrected its 3310 in 2017, modernized for the occasion, 17 years after its illustrious elder. The brand did it again later with other models, including the 8110 marketed in 2018.

How the pricing table works

Rebel today. The brand announces the forthcoming marketing of a T10 tablet with contained prices and dimensions, and accompanies it with mobiles reminiscent of its former successes. All priced under €100, they come in the form of an 8210 4G (€79.99), 5710 XpressAudio (€89.99) and 2660 Flip (€79.99) and share the system Series 30+ operating system.

The most emblematic, which will certainly arouse the most memories among those over 30, is none other than the Nokia 8210, which gains for the occasion compatibility with 4G, especially used to ensure VoLTE calls, even if a web browser is integrated. It hides under its 2.8-inch QVGA screen a Unisoc T107 chip and 48 MB of RAM (!), all of which allows you to run a few games, including Snake Where Tetris. All complemented by a 1450 mAh battery promising long-lasting autonomy, and powered by a micro-USB port. Let’s add that a jack and a microSD port, to complete a storage of 128 GB, are also included.

The Nokia 5710 XpressAudio almost entirely uses the technical specifications of the 8210, 4G connectivity included, but with a smaller screen (2.4 inches). It was undoubtedly necessary to save space, since this mobile is distinguished from ordinary laptops by its integrated wireless headphones. Simply slide the upper part of its back shell to reveal their housing, which also serves as a charging case.

You guessed it, the 2660 Flip brings up the rear with the same technical elements, and a different format: it’s a flip phone, with an interior screen of 2.8 inches (QVGA) and an exterior screen of 1. 77 inch (QQVGA). Nokia says it is compatible with hearing aids and is targeting a senior audience here.
