8Bitdo is about to launch its Arcade Stick for Xbox, a new arcade controller with the double advantage of being customizable and usable wirelessly. Expected at the end of July in France, it is also PC compatible.
Perfect timing for 8BitDo. While Street Fighter 6 is a hit and Mortal Kombat 1 is still scheduled for September, the props man announces a controller that should allow you to enjoy both titles in the best conditions. Expected in France on July 31 at 119 euros, the Arcade Stick for Xbox, that’s its name, has an official Xbox license but is also PC compatible. Its main advantage, however, is to be customizable, in particular through configurable keys and interchangeable arcade buttons, notes Engadget.
Wireless, the accessory relies on a 2.4G USB dongle, hidden in a small hatch for easy transport, which can be plugged into Xbox (Series S|X and One) or PC depending on the needs. Finally, note that this new controller, available in two colors (black and white), is already available for pre-order on Amazon.
A well-thought-out arcade controller
In detail, the Arcade Stick for Xbox benefits from a high degree of customization. As mentioned above, it is particularly possible to remap its buttons (including profiles) through the software 8BitDo Ultimate Software. The physical buttons can also be changed to choose between standard 30mm and 24mm sizes. According to 8BitDo, the joystick mounting plate is otherwise compatible with ” virtually every arcade controller ever made “.

The accessory can also be connected to your console or your PC using a 3 meter USB-C cable, provided. There is also a 3.5 mm jack socket for connecting headphones during the game. With headphones plugged in, however, the battery life drops to nearly 20 hours, compared to 30 hours of play estimated by 8BitDo otherwise. Once discharged, however, the controller will be quite slow to refuel: count about 4 hours of recharging.
