For the first time since 2004, the Czech Republic was just one win away from winning the World Cup on Sunday. In Zurich’s Swiss Life Arena, the underdog made an effort and actually did little wrong. But the few mistakes were punished coldly.

Sweden only allowed 7 minutes of palpation before Malte Lundmark opened the score. And from there it went fast: 10 minutes later it was 4:0 for the floorball superiority. And the Swedish performance remained so sovereign and clarified that there was practically no longer any doubt about the winner. After all, the Czechs were able to make the last third fairly balanced with 2:3 despite their own goal being empty at times.

The breadth of Sweden’s squad also underlined the fact that at least 6 different players could score a goal. Lundmark, Emil Johansson scored and Alexander Galante Carlstrom scored twice.

“Tre Kronor” also wins the 3rd edition of a World Cup in Switzerland and wins gold for the 10th time. In the all-time medal table, the record world champion extends his lead over Finland (4 titles).
