The 9-euro ticket is valid from June and, just in time for summertime and the first holidays, you can travel throughout Germany for little money. If you want, you can travel from Munich to Hamburg, Berlin or all other more than 10,000 German cities and communities for 9 euros a month. The only rule: if you don’t want to pay a surcharge, you can only use local and regional transport. Long-distance traffic, i.e. EC, IC & ICE, are taboo.
In order to find the right routes, you need to consider the relevant criteria when searching. A corresponding function can already be found in the DB Navigator app.

Using the example of the route from Frankfurt to Munich, this can look like this:
- RE 55 4:34 p.m. from Frankfurt Hbf to Würzburg Hbf
- RB 80 18:41 from Würzburg Hbf to Treuchtlingen
- RE 8 8:35 p.m. from Treuchtlingen to Munich Hbf
With a few changes and a little effort, you can travel through the whole country with the ticket.
You will now receive a route via the DB Navigator as usual, but only with local and regional trains. Especially on longer routes, however, this means more frequent changes and longer travel times.
