Processor which is obviously not designed for Mr. Everyman, the Threadripper PRO 7995WX flirts with the bar of 100 cores.
Information about AMD CPUs follow each other and are not the least bit alike. After a few words on the Ryzen 5 7500F, the smallest of the Zen4 range, here is the Threadripper PRO 7995WX making headlines.
96 hearts, a new record!
Note that once again there is no question of information confirmed by AMD, which prefers to play the mystery card while waiting for the release that we imagine close to the Threadripper PRO Zen4 range.
A range that we have already talked about many times and which should have at least three processors, the Threadripper PRO 7945WX, Threadripper PRO 7985WX and Threadripper PRO 7995WX. While the second model has been at the heart of several news, we had little information around the third and its number of cores, well until now…
Indeed, the Geekbench database has recently had a reference HP Z6 G5, a workstation that integrates this Threadripper PRO 7995WX.
More than 80,000 points on Geekbench
The detail of the configuration obviously mentions the onboard processor and specifies that it is a question of 96 cores and 192 threads confirming the first increase in the number of cores since the Threadripper 3000.
Alas, the Geekbench information does not allow to know precisely the base frequency of said processor, but the boost frequency seems to have to reach a maximum of 5.14 GHz. Of course, we also notice the presence of DDR5 – this is one of the novelties of the Threadripper Zen4 – with a total of 512 GB on the configuration tested.
Who says Geekbench, also says performance measurement, even if the tool is not the most complete in this area. The Threadripper PRO 7995WX scores 2,095 points in single-core and 81,408 points in multi-core, making it one of the most powerful ever tested. Remember that the latest rumors suggest a release of the range in September.
