Clearly not a model designed for Mr. Everyman, this new processor AMD Zen 4 is no less impressive.

Everything suggests that AMD processors based on the Zen 4 architecture will arrive in a relatively short period of time. Thus, the latest rumors around the fourth generation of EPYC emphasize that the CPUs are ” ready to launch “.

50% increase in the number of cores

On Twitter, YuuKi goes further than this simple announcement and even provides a photograph of what should be one of the beefiest in the range, the EPYC 9654 with its 96 cores and 192 threads.

This processor, which responds to the code name “Genoa”, is being delivered to AMD’s OEM partners, which therefore seems perfectly in the nails compared to its previous announcements.

The “Genoa” EPYCs succeed the “Milan” in Zen 3 architecture. They have 50% more cores/threads and require a brand new platform with a new socket, the SP5. The EPYC 9654 is clocked at 2-2.15 GHz and boasts a TDP of 360 W.
