99th birthday of Prince Philip: what Queen Elizabeth II has planned: Current Woman The MAG

And to celebrate this great day, Her Majesty the Queen has planned a simple family day. However, because of the continuing coronavirus epidemic around the world, Prince Philip will not be able to hug his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren yet. A disappointment which could however be quickly offset. Indeed, the husband of Elizabeth II will be happy to chat with the whole family via videoconference. A boon for the duke of edinburgh who has always been a fan of gadgets, according to Daily Mail. Exceptionally, there will be also no cannon shots shot in his honor, a spokesman for the British Ministry of Defense revealed to Yahoo UK, due to the sanitary measures linked to Covid-19.

A birthday in complete privacy

Public wishes will be broadcast by the various members of the family on social networks, while Buckingham Palace should mark the occasion in a very discreet manner, can we read in the Daily Mail. The key moment of Prince Philip's day will be especially his lunch with the Queen, with whom he has been confined to Windsor since the start of the pandemic. According to the newspaper, it would be the first time in 72 years that spouses have spent such a long time together, continuously. And that seems to be working for them! For the prince's birthday, Buckingham Palace relayed a photo of the couple. In the image, both appear radiant. Elizabeth II is dressed in an Angela Kelly dress with gray and yellow floral patterns, embellished with her favorite Cullinan V diamond brooch. At his side, dashing, Prince Philip wears a very chic navy blue jacket with double golden buttons, as well as a tie in the colors of the Household Division, the royal marine guard.
