Covid-19: can we organize a picnic with friends in a park or a public garden? : Current Woman The MAG

We have been confined again and under curfew for more than three weeks. Since the authorized limit for travel has been extended to 10 km around his home, many people take the opportunity to walk and meet around meals with relatives. Is this really allowed? What are the rules to follow ? We enlighten you on the rules relating to public and private gatherings during confinement.

Am I allowed to picnic outdoors?

The answer is yes. Faced with the absence of bars, restaurants and terraces, perhaps you are one of the many people who take advantage of the parks and alleys to appreciate the return of the sun. According to the newspaper, it is possible to meet in a green space (public garden, park, lake, etc.) to take advantage of good weather and have a snack on the lawn, except by prefectural order. You can do this as long as you do not exceed the limit of 6 people (including children) and observe safe distances if you do not wear the mask continuously. Beyond 6 people, the group participating in the gathering may be penalized for non-compliance with health rules. All participants must have proof of address with them to prove that they are within 10 km of their home.

Am I allowed to have dinner at my place?

The question of whether or not to receive dinner guests has arisen regularly since the start of the health crisis. At Christmas time, private gatherings were allowed up to a limit of 6 guests (excluding children). Today, in theory, reunions behind closed doors are discouraged. As reported The Parisian, it is forbidden to receive at home during a period of confinement. And for good reason, meeting up with family or friends is not one of the exceptional reasons allowed to travel. In other words, when checking your certificate, you risk a fine of 135 euros for non-compliance with the confinement rules if you cannot present a valid reason. On the other hand, in practice, it is impossible to verify that no one travels or receives private visitors. A lawyer interviewed by the newspaper also said that if relatives live within the 10km limit, nothing prevents them from moving to each other’s homes before 7 p.m. And if the time is too late to go home, sleeping with your host after curfew is not prohibited either.

Am I allowed to eat with my colleagues at the office?

There is no rule to speak of in this case, but many companies recommend eating meals alone at your desk or in a secluded room. The risk of contamination at a canteen table is very high and it is therefore not recommended to share a meal with colleagues. If there are not really other alternatives, it is recommended to sit at the table keeping a regulation distance between the seated people and not to have someone in front of you. As for professional lunches, according to Le Parisien, once it has been bought to take away, there is no law governing where it can be consumed. Lunches with colleagues are still far from regaining their former conviviality.
