The coming days promise to be eventful for the tools of our daily lives, between the launch of the Signal Conso application, the end of the paper tax return and the changes in the termination of your online subscriptions. We go around.

Several important changes will take place in the coming days in the vast universe of consumption, your finances and the subscriptions taken out on a daily basis. From the Signal Conso tool, now available on Android and iOS, to the end of the tax return in paper format, not to mention the simplification in a handful of clicks of the termination of your subscriptions or contracts online, there are what to do.

1- The launch, on mobile, of the Signal Conso application, managed by the repression of fraud

Three years after the launch of the website, the Signal Conso device of the government finally knows its declination on mobile. The application, which allows you to report fraud, a scam or various other problems, is online from Monday, May 22, 2023 on the App Store and the Play Store, the app stores of Google and Apple.

The Signal Conso service, operated by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF), has already been requested by more than 320,000 consumers in web format, for more than 500,000 reports, tells us Bercy. In the event of a report, the company is informed and must then find an amicable solution with the customer, or else correct the problem. The DGCCRF will be alerted and will be able to better target its investigations according to the reports.

Multiple reports can be made from the application, with just a few clicks, in the case of spoiled food, false promotion or a product quality defect. 17 categories are thus submitted to the public, for an application that turns out to be all-terrain. Here they are :

  • Purchase in store
  • Purchase on the Internet
  • Internet (excluding purchases)
  • Works / Renovation
  • Telephony / Internet Service Provider
  • Travel / Leisure
  • Animals
  • Health sector
  • abusive canvassing
  • Cafe Restaurant
  • Bank / Insurance / Mutual
  • Particular services
  • Car / Vehicle / Bike
  • Water / Gas / Electricity
  • Real estate
  • Food poisoning
  • Administrative procedures

Different configurations, questions and options are offered to best guide the consumer, depending on the category. Let’s also not forget the government’s anti-scam filter, which will apply directly to the consumer’s screen if he clicks on a suspicious link contained in an SMS or an e-mail, and which should follow in the coming month.

2- Cancel your subscription online in 3 clicks: an obligation from the 1ster June

We told you about it last March. Yes, terminating a subscription or an online contract can be an obstacle course. So know that from Thursday 1er June, a procedure with a maximum of 3 clicks will have to be put in place to facilitate termination. So how does it work ?

A “termination” button is supposed to appear from the personal and account management space. It must allow you to cancel an offer or a subscription in just 3 clicks. The principle is as follows: canceling or unsubscribing must become as simple as subscribing. Kind of like what sites are already supposed to do with cookies.

This famous termination in 3 clicks concerns electricity or gas suppliers as well as Internet service providers and telecom operators, insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, sports halls, dating sites, newspaper publishers or again the transport operators. It remains to be seen which of them will be compliant on D-Day.

3- Income tax return: you still have time if you do it online

Now let’s talk about one last subject, a “problematic” subject, as they say: taxes. The paper income statement was open until Monday, May 22 at 11:59 p.m., the postmark being authentic. From now on, only the online declaration service remains open. But beware, the declaration limit is set on different dates, depending on the department. And it’s going to happen pretty quickly, depending on where you live.

  • For departments numbered from 01 to 19 (and non-residents), you have until Thursday May 25, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.,
  • For departments numbered from 20 to 54, the date is postponed to Thursday 1er June at 11:59 p.m.,
  • For departments numbered from 55 to 974/976, the limit is set for Thursday, June 8, 2023, 11:59 p.m.
