Regina King is one of the names being considered to direct the new “Superman” flick. That’s what she says about the rumors.
The search for a suitable director for the new “Superman” flick, which is still in development, is apparently in full swing. Names like Barry Jenkins (41, “Moonlight”), Ryan Coogler (35, “Black Panther”) and Regina King (50, “Watchmen”) are traded. While the former two are still keeping a low profile, King has now commented on the rumors in an interview.
“This is completely new to me,” replies King to the Question from “MSNBC” host Tiffany Crosswhether there was anything to the rumors. “No, really not, I haven’t heard anything about it until now,” the 50-year-old continued. That would obviously put the “Watchmen” star out of the running.
Little is known about the new “Superman” flick so far. As the Industry portal “Deadline” reports, so far only Ta-Nehisi Coates (45) have been set as screenwriter and JJ Abrams (54) as producer.
