“I am pleased that the Americans have clearly stated that in 2014 they changed their practice of monitoring allies – and that they will work with us and others to clarify what happened,” said Prime Minister Erna Solberg afterwards the NTB news agency.
Norway’s Defense Minister Frank Bakke-Jensen tweeted: “We have clearly stated that allied surveillance is unacceptable and unnecessary.”
The Swedish Defense Minister is also not satisfied with the statements from Copenhagen and Washington. “I mean, we have not yet received a satisfactory answer,” said Peter Hultqvist on Thursday. Therefore, he plans to contact Denmark and the USA again.
