The British Georgia L. * (28) risks her life to save her twin sister. During a bathing trip in Puerto Escondido (Mexico), her sister Melissa is attacked by a crocodile. Georgia doesn’t hesitate when she hears the screams for help and dives for her sister.
She searches desperately in the darkness and only finds her sister after several minutes of searching – floating face down on the surface. Georgia tries to get to the boat with Melissa in her arms, but the crocodile attacks again.
Georgia beats the animal – until it gives up
The animal bites Melissa and Georgia. Again and again. But Georgia hits the crocodile so often until it lets go of her and her sister. The mother of the twins, Sue L., says the “Daily Mail”that both women suffered serious bite wounds. Melissa almost drowned.
She says, “Melissa is alive, but we don’t know whether her injuries are life-threatening or not.” She was put into an artificial coma in a Mexican hospital. Her father Sean tells how Melissa was saved from certain death by her sister: “Georgia fended off the crocodile.”
And further: “Georgia fought the crocodile and was only able to save Melissa because she is a diver and has experience in saving lives.” Georgia had to fend off the crocodile. ‘She kept hitting it on the head. She suffered lacerations and bite wounds. “
Twins were concerned about bathing safety
The two twin sisters swam in the bioluminescent waters after dark. They wanted to enjoy the glowing, nocturnal natural spectacle. According to their parents, both had previously asked the organizer of the bathing excursion whether it was safe.
“The girls specifically asked if it was safe to go swimming, and the tour guide said it was,” says the father. Now Melissa continues to fight for her life, it is currently unclear how her health status is developing.
The sisters had been backpacking the world since March. They wanted to return in November. (euc)
