After the brutal murder of a 13-year-old girl in Vienna, the shock continues deep. Two suspects – Afghans aged 16 and 18 – were arrested on Monday. The police are currently investigating intensively in the area around the victim. The two suspected Afghans came to Austria as asylum seekers, according to Nehammer. One of the two came to Austria as a beneficiary of subsidiary protection. However, this status had already been revoked due to a previous conviction. He had objected to it, so the proceedings had not yet been concluded. The second asylum seeker only applied for asylum this year. “He is therefore in the so-called basic supply,” said the interior minister.
In this context, Nehammer emphasized several times that the right to stay in the country is linked to compliance with the laws applicable in Austria. “Everyone who wants to stay here has to obey the law. Who doesn’t have to go. “

The body of the 13-year-old Lower Austrian was found on Saturday morning by passers-by on a strip of grass next to Viktor-Kaplan-Straße in Donaustadt. Resuscitation measures were unsuccessful. Since the girl did not have any ID with her, her identity was initially unclear. After a description of the person was published, the parents of those killed reported to a police station in Lower Austria on Sunday.
Girls drugged and abused
