After a landslide, the cantonal road from Frutigen to Adelboden remains closed.
The authorities announced this after a further assessment of the situation on Sunday evening.
A diversion has been set up for traffic.
The regional management body Gehrihorn (RFO) had already announced on Sunday morning that, according to geologists, the area was still moving. There are around 300 cubic meters of rubble on the road. In addition, the guard rail was badly damaged. Due to the movements on the slope, no clearance work would be carried out.
According to the announcement, a two-way diversion via the old Adelbodenstrasse has been set up for vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons. Snow chains are mandatory for vehicles without all-wheel drive. Long waiting times must be expected.
Small replacement buses in use
Public transport between Frutigen and Adelboden is operated by minibuses. Travel times are longer.
The landslide occurred early Saturday morning in the Rohrbach (Stollergräbli) area. The road was buried over a length of around 25 meters.
