Be witnesses! During Comic Con Sao Paulo, which takes place from November 30 to December 3, Warner Bros. gave a preview of the future film Furiosain the form of a first image of Anya Taylor-Joy in the main role… while waiting for a trailer which should not be long.
The origins of Furiosa
It is our American colleagues from the Collider site who shared these first official visuals. In the middle of the aisles of the Comic Con Experience stood the stand for the next film in the franchise Mad Max. The film will tell the origins of the character of Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Furiosa will tell the story of the young woman who fell into the hands of a horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus. While crossing the Wasteland, they will come across Immortan Joe’s citadel. In the midst of the inevitable confrontation, Furiosa will have to find a way to survive to return home.
Once again signed by the legendary George Miller, director of all the films Mad Maxbut also Babe And Happy Feet, Furiosa will therefore count on Anay Taylor-Joy (Super Mario Bros., The lady’s game) to embody the young version of the heroine. She will notably be facing Chris Hemsworth (Thor) in the role of the terrifying Dementus.
Franchise Mad Max began in 1979, with a modestly budgeted first film, which told the story of a police officer seeking revenge in a postapocalyptic near future. The film propelled Mel Gibson to stardom, and was followed by Mad Max 2: the challenge (1981) and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1989), two opuses which established a real cult around the franchise in the 80s.
The saga was brought up to date in 2015, with the masterpiece Mad Max: Fury Road where Tom Hardy played the title role. A visual slap and a true stunning opera, the film left its mark on audiences and critics, establishing itself as one of the most innovative blockbusters of the 21st century. It grossed $380 million at the worldwide box office.
