“The Witcher”
“Matrix” star Laurence Fishburne is joining the Netflix series
“The Witcher” fans will see new faces in the fourth season with Liam Hemsworth and Laurence Fishburne.
It has been known for some time that Liam Hemsworth (33) will take over the lead role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill (40) in the fourth season of “The Witcher”. Now another new star is joining the cast. Laurence Fishburne (62), known among other things as Morpheus from the original “Matrix” trilogy, will also star.
Who does Laurence Fishburne play and when does it start?
Hemsworth in particular will probably have a difficult time with many viewers. Even before the start of the third season in summer 2023, in which Cavill was still starring, it was foreseeable that the series would struggle in the future. The new line-up, which was not particularly well received by many, was announced in October 2022. “I will lay down my medallion and swords for season four. In my place, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf,” Cavill said at the time wrote on Instagram.
What will the fourth season of “The Witcher” be about?
Following the events of the most recent season, the new episodes follow Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan), “who explore the war-ravaged continent […] must traverse separately from each other,” says a description of the streaming service. If they manage to “accept and lead the groups of outsiders in which they find themselves, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire – and getting back together find”.
