Expected for the month of October, Xiaomi’s new high-end smartphones are starting to get people talking. A leak from China reveals first details on one of the models in the range: the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
Several months after the Xiaomi 14 series, the Chinese brand will reveal its new flagships this year, the Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro and 15 Ultra. The youngest of the family obviously couldn’t wait a few more weeks to reveal its technical characteristics to us. Yes, we now know a little more about the camera that should equip the Xiaomi 15 Pro!
Leak reveals what will be hidden under the Xiaomi 15 Pro camera
As mentioned in our test at the start of the year, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra undoubtedly established itself as a master of photography when it was released. While awaiting the marketing of the new range of smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is already starting to strut on the Web, revealing the first details about it.
It is therefore through a new leak from China that we learn that the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be equipped with a triple camera system, made up of three sensors of 50 megapixels each. According to information relayed by Phone Arenathis system includes a 1-inch OmniVision OV50K main sensor, a Sony IMX882 telephoto lens (3x optical zoom), and an ultra-wide-angle lens.
An exclusive launch in Chinese territory?
Compared to the Xiaomi 14 Pro, the 50-megapixel telephoto lens of the model coming this year will offer a much better experience, again according to information gleaned from Phone Arena. Indeed, although the Xiaomi 15 Pro would adopt a telephoto lens with a slightly lower resolution than that of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, it would nevertheless consume less energy. In addition, the Sony IMX882 would deliver better performance than the 50 megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor on board the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
The report also indicates that Xiaomi and Leica will, unsurprisingly, continue their collaboration. Therefore, the Xiaomi 15 series should once again benefit from the expertise of the German company, both in terms of functionality and design. Please note, however, that this information is only based on leaks and has not been confirmed by Xiaomi at the time of writing.
The successors to the Xiaomi 14 should be made official next October and will first be marketed in their country of origin, namely China. If the company repeats the same pattern as last year, only the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra should see the light of day in France. Except for screen size, the Pro and Ultra variants generally don’t have big differences.

- Outstanding photo quality
- A remarkable smartphone all round
- Top performance
An exceptional smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra does not usurp its future reputation as the king of photography. We have rarely been so impressed by photos captured on a smartphone and taken so much pleasure in examining the smallest details. From the colors to the sharpness, including the generosity of the definition of the images, no aspect has been left to chance by Xiaomi, which must definitely be taken very seriously when it comes to photography.
Solidly equipped, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra lacks nothing and offers both the best photo experience on the market, but also top-notch performance and a sumptuous screen.
Now, there still remain some incorrigible black spots on the smartphone picture. Advertisements, in particular, in the interface of a terminal sold for almost €1,500. Unacceptable, in our opinion, especially since the manufacturer has not followed its competitors Samsung and Google in software support extended to seven years, in fact making the Xiaomi 14 Ultra less durable than a Galaxy S24 Ultra or Pixel 8 Pro.
