Joe Diffie: Country musician dies after corona infection

Country legend Joe Diffie has died of coronavirus infection. The singer was 61 years old.

Country star Joe Diffie died on Sunday of complications from a coronavirus infection. This is reported, among other things, by CNN, citing a spokesman for the musician. The singer was 61 years old. Diffie had announced two days before his death that he had been tested positive for the coronavirus and was being treated.

Diffie has had great success with his music since the 1990s. The Oklahoma musician released 13 albums and had more than 20 top 10 hits. His best known songs include "Home", "Bigger Than the Beatles" or "If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)". In 1998 he won a Grammy Award for "Same Old Train", a collaboration with other artists including Clint Black, Merle Haggard, Patty Loveless and Randy Travis.
