Many French celebrities such as Elsa Zylberstein, Franck Dubosc, Gad Elmaleh and Claude Lelouch have decided to fight against the isolation of the elderly during confinement by calling them regularly.

In this period of social distancing, the elderly find themselves even more isolated than in normal times. Several initiatives were then launched to combat this isolation due to the containment put in place by the government to stem the Covid-19 pandemic. The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, revealed in a press release that several dozen agents of the capital are "mobilized to call isolated elderly people daily and directly". Moreover, several French personalities will join the initiative to give some comfort to those who need it most.

Anne Hidalgo was particularly pleased to announce that several stars were joining the project. "Next Wednesday, these volunteers will be joined by Elsa Zylberstein, Franck Dubosc, Gad Elmaleh, Claude Lelouch and other artists who also want to show solidarity and will regularly call isolated elderly people on the phone "she said.

The mayor of Paris did not fail to thank "very warmly all these volunteers who show a solid solidarity in this unprecedented crisis situation" at the end of this press release.

Many stars have been involved in the fight against Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic. Recently, French youtubers, Mcfly and Carlito, animated a charitable live video to support hospital staff and nursing homes. Both have raised more than € 400,000. Other artists put their stone in the building by performing live via social networks or on television. Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello and even Sam Smith participated in the "iHeart Living Room Concert For America ", a charity concert aimed at raising funds to continue the fight against the coronavirus. Others have made very large donations, notably the footballer Kylian Mbappé to help people in great precariousness.
