Lesbian love is not “out of disappointment” in men

Actress Maren Kroymann spoke in an interview about lesbian love and her first sex with a woman.
In an interview with the magazine “Bunte”, Maren Kroymann (72) spoke openly about her first intimate experiences with women. “The first sex with a woman was just great!”, Explained the actress, who, after 20 years of relationships with men, did not discover lesbian love for herself “out of disappointment,” she continues. “It was more like I’ve always been a feminist, always supporting women.”
She only went to the doctors and “looked everywhere when there was a choice between a man or a woman that I would choose the woman,” said the 72-year-old. One day she thought that the only thing missing was sex with a woman. “I was open to what happened to me then.”

Maren Kroymann came out in 1993 at the age of 43 in an article in the news magazine “Stern”. “At that time, a lot of prominent and non-prominent lesbians should take part. In the end, I was the only celebrity who was left,” she said in an “SZ” interview. In February 2021 she was part of the #actout campaign, in which 185 German filmmakers, actors and actresses celebrated their coming-out “among other things as lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, inter and non-binary”. In a joint manifesto it said, among other things: “So far we have not been able to deal openly with our private life in our profession without fear of professional consequences. That is now over.”
