(AOF) – At the end of December 2021, Neoen signed a power purchase agreement covering at least 30 MW of green energy in Finland with Equinix, a world leader in digital infrastructure. The contract was won following a call for tenders launched by Equinix to supply carbon-free electricity to its Finnish sites. Under the terms of this contract, Equinix will purchase for 10 years 85% of the green electricity and guarantees of origin that will be produced by the Björkliden wind farm in Finland.
This park was co-developed by Neoen and by Prokon in Närpes, in the Ostrobothnia region in the west of the country. It will have 7 turbines for a total power of at least 35 MW and will be 80% owned by Neoen and 20% by Prokon. Its construction should be launched in 2023 for commissioning scheduled for 2024.
